Focus Lighting

In this image, three lights are used to emphasize the three dancers in the middle. The lighting brings attention to the still position of the dancers while blacking out everything else.

  1. This is a great example of selective focus that doesn't just use a single spotlight to create it's effect. By using three angled lights the viewer is shown how small the person is, dramatizing their movements and allowing the audience to understand their role or how they are currently feeling.
