The light in this scene draws your attention to the two boys playing tennis while the rest of the area is a dark blue that make me think about night time. The interesting thing about light is that it also brings your attention to the line dividing them, it is assumed that it is the tennis line, but could it mean something else?
With the light focusing on the two kids and the presumed net. The lights makes us think of a divide between the kids in a heated game.
ReplyDeleteI think the line dividing them is a symbol of multiple things, the tennis game and something bigger in their lives. Having individual spotlights on the boys rather than just lighting the stage entirely makes them seem more isolated and farther apart from each other, signaling that something larger is going on.
