Image Forum Topics

THTR 2314 Spring 2020 – Principles of Stage Lighting    -  Blogpost Image Forum Topics
All image/video posts are due on Thursdays by 9:55. 
All comments on the posts are due on Tuesdays by 9:55. 

YOU MUST add the theme (the bold text in the list) of the post in the labels tab.

Students will post 2 lighting related images or videos per week on the Stage Lighting 2314 blog for 10 of the 14 full weeks of class beginning Thursday Jan. 23. Comment on what you find interesting about your images/videos. You will also comment on a minimum of 2 of your classmates images per week. Comments for both should include discussion about how the images are an example of the functions and qualities of light. 

While creating these blog posts please keep in mind that they are to discuss design elements within each photo or video. Do not simply describe the lighting in the image or video, but explain what effect it has on the subject or the viewer. Also please check other posts before posting to avoid using the same materials more than once.

Sunlight – Post 2 pictures of interesting natural sun lighting in nature or through windows.

Personal Photos-Post two of your own images (photos you’ve taken) with interesting daytime or nighttime lighting.  These can be natural are artificial light.

Movement in lighting-Post two videos that show movement with lighting – try to find videos that use lighting to create of enhance an illusion of movement instead of just videos of moving light fixtures

  1. I think the movement of the lighting in black and white was so impressive! Typically when you think of moving lighting you think of changing colors but the movement around the face creates really interesting shapes! The purple color filer that was added on top in editing was also really pretty.
