I imagine that the colors used in this scene are intended to display something going on in the nighttime, something that's causing stress to the people on stage. This is a very interesting example of the use of lighting to set a mood. I love the contrast between the orange and purple as well as the use of shadows. I feel the power and stress.
ReplyDeleteThe lighting in combination with the set design gives this a sci-fi feeling. Though the costumes do not align with this theory, the unnatural purple sky (which looks similar to a colorful galaxy) and golden Saturn-esque rings imply this.
