I chose this photo of an old man because I like the way the shadows play with the form. I get a deep sense of melancholy from this figure. He is looking away from the camera and the light source is not straight on. I like how we can clearly see his wrinkles and his droopy mouth/expression.
I like this photo because of the way shadow is able to create an interesting shape. This photo shows how the absence of light is actually an incredibly efficient tool to us and gives the viewer of this photo a sense of mystery and draws them further in, peaking curiosity.
