3-D Printed Optical Illusion

Lighting Optical Illusion
I found this video very interesting because rather than making optical illusions with different types and shapes of light, this illusion is just a simple light source that takes advantage of the movement of an object. Movement from the thing that is being illuminated can also help create a dynamic scene, even if you only have 1 light source. Depending on what the light shines on, a shape is given off, and that shape helps create movement in this optical illusion, but I feel that this can easily can also transcribe over to bigger stages as well.

  1. This was interesting to watch... you can see the frames of the model in the video but the light catches on only a few of the frames to create a moving picture. This is a weird and interesting way of creating movement and the illusion of change with light.

  2. You took this prompt so literally, it's so beautiful. The small movement of the lights was able to create shapes. This is an extreme example, but I would like to see this applied to the stage where there's several shapes creating a moving shape.

  3. This is a difficult optical illusion to create and speaks to the ability of the artist who created the shapes themselves. This type of lighting design could be used onstage to make the scene or set seem as if it is moving. This is an incredible tool if used correctly and can create some beautiful movement.
