Interesting Color: The Band's Visit

This image is from the Broadway production of “The Band’s Visit”. I think the lighting design and color here is very interesting, because it evokes the feeling of an empty city at night. The small, rectangular light above the seated band member is a very effective practical light for this purpose, using a color very much like a street lamp. Otherwise, the blue light you can see on the actors works effectively alongside it, giving a sense of loneliness.
