Chicago Lighting

This is a picture from a production of Chicago I did over the summer. I love how the red lighting on the dancers and how it makes the black costumes pop. I also like how the red related to the red set. The yellow cyc lighting also adds really good contrast.

  1. I would argue somewhat of the opposite. The red on black appears to make the figures less distinguishable rather than making them pop and stand out. In this image, it is difficult to tell who is who and who's arms goes to who because the actors are in such a bunched up chaotic state. Though I do like how they used the spotted lights on the upper balcony set prop to show, it helps with the jazz theme.
