I took this photo at the Japanese Tea Garden. I really like how I was able to capture the shadows casted on the plants by the sun. I also like how the sun illuminates the water and makes it look like there are shades of blue and green within the water. Overall, the plants and the natural light invoke a sense of serenity.
I love this photo because of the depth it adds to the water. It allows the items in the pond to have a solid shape as well because of their shadows. Along with this the beams of light from the corner give the whole photo a very peaceful feeling because they are a soft yellow light, which I associate with a peaceful outdoors scenery, seen here.
ReplyDeleteThe strong streams of sunlight coming from the top left, I think, show the intensity that nature can posses but it is counterbalanced by the calmness of water.
ReplyDeleteThe lighting in this image seems almost on the border of washing it out, and I think a major factor in this effect is the water and the light it reflects. The colors in the gardens on land are still quite vibrant and clear, though.
