Woman Holding a Balance - Johannes Vermeer

I like the way the light is entering through the window to illuminate the woman that is holding the balance as it is a warmer tone. The light also helps highlight the gold and pearls in the painting making them gleam. The light is also used to show that the woman may be pregant as it reflects off of the cloth of her dress. In the background, you also see another depiction of light as a holy figure is shown surround by the light as if they are the source of light and they are illuminating the picture.
